Mentoring

Many new mothers and fathers who are suffering or have suffered from perinatal mental ill health report that the support of other parents who have also lived through the experience of postnatal depression or PTSd is valuable to them. Similarly, ex-military personnel who are experiencing PTSd may feel that the only person who might be able to understand what they are going through is another armed forces veteran.

The opportunity to volunteer as a Counselling Connect peer mentor is available to any client who feels recovered enough to provide such support. Facilitated skill building workshops are run as part of our framework to support volunteers, as well as regular debriefing sessions.

Please let us know if you would be interested in becoming a peer mentor.
