At Counselling Connect (CC) we oppose racism and oppression in all its forms. We recognize that these have long impacted Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) communities in Canada. We recognize the impact of racism and oppression on the mental health of Black, Indigenous and People of Colour. And the resulting complex feelings and thinking, such as the hurt, frustration and lack of trust in the system. We also recognize that Black, Indigenous and people of colour as well as other communities such as LGBT2SQ+, face systemic barriers when trying to access mental health services. This is why we are committed to putting equity at the centre of our decision-making. We are proud to provide access to culturally appropriate services for the Indigenous community and by and for services for LGBT2SQ+ and ACB communities.
